MASTER OF THE INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE OF ORAL IMPLANTOLOGISTS
The International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) was founded in 1972. With over 12,000 members, the ICOI is the world’s largest dental implant organization for specialists and general dentists. 10% of the membership are awarded Fellows and Masters of the ICOI, and have pursued voluntary programs that evaluate and examine their knowledge of implant dentistry by experts in the field. They have been recognized by their peers and are local leaders as well as global ambassadors. They have accepted a lifelong commitment to learning. ICOI’s Advanced Credentialing Commission recommends members, review their applications and suggests approval for fellowship status. For Mastership status, interviews by ACC is required as well as a review of cases and a written exam administered by ACC members. Documentation requirements include at least 40 implant cases of varying complexity, 100 hours of implant specific education, and letters of recommendation from other implantologists.
